Small hotels, run by people who live there
We started with one townhouse in Lisbon in 2009. Today there are five houses: a riad, a ryokan-style inn, a lodge, a beach resort and the Lisbon original. None has more than 42 rooms, and every one is managed by someone from the town it is in.

Before you book
Why book on this website?
You get our best rate, breakfast for two, free cancellation up to 48 hours before arrival and late checkout when the room is free. The travel sites can not offer all of that.
Do I pay when I book?
No. When you book direct, you pay at the hotel when you leave.
Can I change my dates?
Yes, free of charge up to 48 hours before arrival, as long as the hotel has rooms on your new dates. Some hotels have longer windows in peak season; your confirmation says which.
Are children welcome?
At most of our hotels, yes. Our Kyoto inn welcomes children from 6 and our Marrakech riad from 8, because of the open pool and the stairs.
